PONTIANAK - Coordinating Ministry for Economic
Affairs, Mr. Airlangga Hartanto, arrived to Pontianak, West Kalimantan.
His arrival was welcomed by the Vice Governor of West Kalimantan. Mr. H. Ria
Norsan in Supadio airport, Kubu Raya on thursday (24/11/2022).
The attendance of Coordinating Ministry of Economic Affairs, Mr.
Airlangga Hartanto as the Signing Minister of subregional collaboration of
BIMP-EAGA in 25th BIMP-EAGA Ministerial Level Meeting (PTM)
that was held in Qubu Resort Hotel in Saturday, November 25th, 2022.
The theme of 25th BIMP-EAGA
Ministerial Meeting was “Supporting Competitiveness, Climate
Resilience”. It was congruent with the priority proposed by Indonesia
in G20 presidency in 2022 and continued with the chairmanship of Indonesia in
ASEAN 2023, Sustainability. There were some crucial meetings in 25th BIMP-EAGA:
National Secretary Meeting, Business Forum, Senior Official Meeting, Governor
and Head of Region Meeting, and closed with the Ministry Meeting.
“The most crucial
thing is developed recovery framework, green investment and promote new energy
and renewable (EBT) to economic resilience,” said Economic Affairs, Mr.
Airlangga.
Economic Affairs, Mr.
Airlangga will also lead two Ministerial Meeting that is Retreat on
November 25th, 2022 and Plano on November 26th, 2022.
Afterwards, Mangrove planting field activities using digital application will
be held. With this application, planters can monitor Mangrove development that
has planted periodically and real-time.

vacuum for 14 years since the last meeting in 2008 at Makassar, South Sulawesi.
“The most crucial

“BIMP-EAGA is a part
of building blocks in ASEAN. Indonesia has taken of the
Chairman of ASEAN in 2023, so that we have to cultivate cooperation and
collaboration from every platform exist in ASEAN’’, said Chair Senior Officials
BIMP-EAGA who is also the Deputy of International Economic Coordination,
Minister of Economic Coordinator, Mr. Edi Prio Pambudi.
Indonesian territories
that were included in the scope of BIMP-EAGA cooperation consist of 15
Provinces including all provinces in Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Maluku and Papua,
all regions of Brunei Darussalam, 3 provinces of Malaysia, and 28 provinces of
Philippines. On the other side, the cooperation covers five strategic sectors,
Connectivity (Transportation, Trade and Investment, TIK), Food resilience,
Tourism, Environment and Socio-culture and Education.
The five sectors of
BIMP-EAGA cooperation were implemented through three strategies, namely Local
Government Cooperation, Private sector cooperation and cooperation between
institutions and individuals. BIMP-EAGA Cooperation also has shown a
significant growth, including the total of goods trade that reach USD95.3
billion or contributed 19,1% to the combined trade of the four countries and
contributed USD322,8 billion or 17,9% from GDP combined of the four countries.
Apart from having strategies partners, BIMP-EAGA forum also partnered with 4 countries: South Korean, Japan, Australia and China.
