PONTIANAK – At the 25th BIMP-EAGA Ministerial Meeting that was held in Pontianak City, the Minister of Economy, Airlangga Hartato, and the Governor of West Kalimantan, Sutarmidji, warmly welcomed the chairs and all delegates who had participated in the BIMP-EAGA series of activities in the last two days. The holding of the BIMP-EAGA PTM this time is the first in-person meeting after the last two years were only held virtually.


“I am delighted that we can reunite and have an in-person meeting with all of you tonight. A big thank you to the Governor of West Kalimantan and all residents of Pontianak City for their hospitality and kind reception of this event," said the Minister of Economy, Airlangga, at a dinner held at the West Kalimantan Governor's Hall.


The hospitality and warmth were shown by the host through the appearance of a number of entertaining dances such as the Haung, Kidangna, and Joget Anak Dare. Moreover, all guests and invitees were also treated to a variety of culinary delights with a distinctive taste from West Kalimantan.


The dinner was also attended by the VII Deputy Minister of Economy; The I Deputy Minister of Economy; the Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy Brunei Darussalam; the Chief Director, of Economic Planning Unit, Prime Minister’s Department Malaysia; the Chairman of Mindanao Development Authority of Philippine; the Indonesian Ambassador for Brunei Darussalam; the Director-General Southeast Asia Regional Department Asian Development Bank (ADB); the Director of ASEAN Integration Monitoring ASEAN Secretariat; and the delegates of BIMP-EAGA 2022, Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Philippine.
