PONTIANAK - The 25th Ministerial Meeting of BIMP EAGA will take place soon. The Pontianak City Government improved to make up the city as a preparation to welcome the delegates of international conference which will take place from 23 to 26 November 2022.

The Mayor of Pontianak, Ir. Edi Rusdi Kamtono, M.M., M.T. explained, the government made preparations starting from welcoming the arrival of the guests to their departure. Accommodation along with a series of agendas held in Pontianak have also been prepared.

"I invite the people of Pontianak City, especially business actors including hotels and local food specialists, can provide the best service for guests who come," he insisted, Thursday (17/11/2022).

He wanted the delegates from countries that are members of BIMP-EAGA to feel comfortable and impressed while in this city nicknamed the Equator. Edi expected that the good impression and friendliness of Pontianak City will be brought when they depart to their countries.

"When they return to their home country, they will bring an impressive story for the promotion of Pontianak City. This will definitely have an impact on economic growth because the delegations who come will definitely shop and travel in Pontianak City," said Edi.

The Pontianak City Government has the task of welcoming delegates through a Welcome Dinner at the Pontianak Convention Center (PCC). All technical matters, starting from decorating the place, entertainment, to consumption, are ready to be held for guests who come. For security and cleanliness are also prepared.

The ministerial-level officials invited were Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto from Indonesia, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Minister of Finance and Economy Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew Bin Abdullah from Brunei Darussalam, Minister in the Prime Minister Department (Economic) Dato' Sri Mustapa Bin Mohamed from Malaysia, and Chairman of the Mindanao Development Authority Sec. Maria Belen S. Acosta from the Philippines. (NM/DS)
