PONTIANAK - Regional Secretary of West Kalimantan Province, dr. Harisson, M.kes. believed that the preparations that have been made to host the 25th BIMP-EAGA Ministerial Meeting, which will be held on November 22-26 in Pontianak, will be succeed. He said that the preparation have been 90 percent ready.

"I am sure this will be succeed," Harisson said when attending a coordination meeting for logistics preparation with the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenko Ekon)  in the Data Analytic Room of the Governor's Office, Thursday (3/11/2022).

Harisson explained, all the data of guests arrival schedule will be distributed by Kemeko Ekon. He told that all the preparations have been made by West Kalimantan Provincial Government.

He also reported about the preparation of a virtual mangrove planting by using a mobile application namely Sipohon, scheduled on Saturday, 26 November 2022.

In 1994, four nations: Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, forged a shared vision to revive centuries old traditional trade links. National boundaries had imposed barriers on these historical routes and countries sought to revitalized their trade connections. BIMP-EAGA was formed to promote inclusive, people-centric growth in countries' less developed, remote areas.

There are 15 provinces in the territory of Indonesia become a member of BIMP-EAGA: West Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, North Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi, West Sulawesi, Gorontalo, Maluku, North Maluku, Papua, and West Papua.
