The Governor of West Kalimantan, Mr. Sutarmidji Delivered the Two Factors of Inflation Increase in West Kalimantan

 

PONTIANAK – The Governor of West Kalimantan, Mr. H. Sutarmidji, in front of The Minister of Economy of Indonesia, Mr. Airlangga Hartarto, stated that if the Religious Holidays and Food and Mouth Diseases (FMD) affects some pets of the farmers in Province of West Kalimantan, it could be two factors of inflation increase in Province of West Kalimantan.

 

The two factors were delivered in the welcome remark of Center Inflation Control of Coordination Limited Meeting Team (TPIP) and Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID) in Qubu Resort Hotel, Kubu Raya, Friday (25/11/2022).

 

“We, in West Kalimantan, are really difficult to control the inflation, because there will be religious holidays or other holidays in 10 months of a year. Moreover, it is aggravated by Food and Mouth Diseases (FMD), so there are many pigs die, and it becomes the big inflation contributor after chickens and some river fish that could not well farmed,” said Mr. Sutarmidji.

 

In addition, he also added that the price speculation, both in primary goods and farms, being the obstacles for the Government of West Kalimantan in equalizing the price in every markets.

 

“So that the information about integration price is important to do and Alhamdulillah, the inflation in the Province of West Kalimantan still can be relatively controlled,” he said.

 

Nevertheless, the Governor, Mr. Sutarmidji explained that there was one district in the Province of West Kalimantan that has the high inflation. However, it was caused by an inflicted disaster mitigation.

 

“The inflation in Sintang District is caused by floods, because it still could not maximally produce since the last year, but Sintang District is affected by floods this year. Moreover, Singkawang City is also affected by floods, except Pontianak City. However, Pontianak City is not the production center,” explained by the former two-periods mayor.
