Pontianak - SIPPOHON KALBAR application were launched by the Governor of West Kalimantan and the Minister of Economy Airlangga Hartarto along with 4 Delegations of BIMP-EAGA in the Pavilion of West Kalimantan Governor, Ahmad Yani street, Pontianak on Saturday (11/26/2022) for the hybrid event of Trees Plantation. The trees include mangrove, ulin, tengkawang, jelutong, kayu ubah, and bintangor.

In this event, the Governor said that SIPPOHON application is the development from the previous application he made when he was the Mayor of Pontianak City.

“We can see the detail of the tree that we planted in this application, for example the CO² rate, biomass, the carbon, all of them can be seen from this application,” Sutarmidji said.

He added that if the components of SIPPOHON application can be calculated well, it is not impossible to manage the temperature of a certain area.

“In 10 years, Pontianak City can decrease 3 until 4 degree of temperature. Almost all trees in Pontianak are already in the application,” he explained.

Furthermore, Sutarmidji also encouraged the people of West Kalimantan and the world to plant trees.

“Everyone in the world can plant mangroves in West Kalimantan through SIPPOHON application, later on we will give the coordinate point of the tree so they can monitor it from everywhere and anytime. We have around 177 thousand hectare of mangrove area that spreads over 199 kilometers of coast,” invited the Governor in front of the BIMP-EAGA delegations.

After the remark, the Governor and Indonesia Minister of Economy along with BIMP-EAGA delegations walked to the Forest Products Gallery and inaugurated the West Kalimantan Pavilion Forest Jogging Track by signing the inscription by the Governor of West Kalimantan.
