Pontianak – West Kalimantan offers cooperation in infrastructure, electricity, industry, and trade. The forum also discussed the regulatory convenience between one country and another.

The governor of West Kalimantan stated several things in the gubernatorial meeting, Friday (25/11/2022).

“We offer cooperation in infrastructure, electricity, and trade. Some of the cooperation has to be delivered through the central authority. Why not local? Sometimes it clashes with the governmental system, such as Indonesia, so the foreign policies are handled by the central authority,” Sutarmidji said. His party also talked about how cooperation regulations between the regional governments from one country exist.

“This is what we discuss right now. The idea is good, but it sometimes clashes with the governmental system between one country of BIMP-EAGA to another,” he continued.

He explained in the forum that the countries of BIMP-EAGA have already had the same visions, missions, and goals, but they are still finding a way to attract investors from other non-BIMP-EAGA countries in order to speed up the growth of each region.

“But the discussion already has the same visions, missions, and goals, and there are similar needs. The only thing is how to attract foreign investors to every region,” he said.
