Pontianak – Four regencies of West Kalimantan participate in the craft products of West Kalimantan exhibition in the 2022 BIMP-EAGA Ministerial Meeting.

“This is not from all regencies, but there are four regencies that take part in this BIMP-EAGA exhibition. It includes Mempawah, Landak, Kayong Utara, and Bengkayang. So, they also display their potential products in this exhibition,” said the Head of Foreign Trade Section in Pontianak, on Wednesday (11/23).

He added that his party displays the best local products of West Kalimantan that have been exhibited and went through trainings.

“So, I display our best products that are ready to be exported. Some products that we display are woven products, crafts made from the kapuak wood bark, such as bags or crafts made from typical beads of West Kalimantan,” he said.

Moreover, he said that his party hires designers from abroad to develop those products to improve the quality.

“It’s even better to find the suitable market with the products. So, we display the products that suits the taste of each country,” he added.

Yudi Suheri said that this momentum is a golden chance to expose those products so it will be known abroad. He hoped that those products will become the product in the export-scale.

"We should use this opportunity to promote our best local products so they will be known in the BIMP-EAGA member countries through this event. We hope these products will become the product in the export-scale," Yudi said. (rnd)
