PONTIANAK - The First Day of the 25th Ministerial Meeting of Brunei Darussalam-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines, East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) in 2022 has officially started today (11/23).



 

Two events, National Secretariat Meeting (NAM) and BEBC Board Meeting, were held in Mercure Hotel. During the four days of the event, the delegates from the four countries will attend several meetings.



In the National Secretariat Meeting (NAM), the Assistant of Regional and Sub-Regional Deputy of the Indonesia Ministry of Economy, Netty Muharni, stated that Indonesia has issues that become the global's attention. The issues, Netty said, include food resilience, energy resilience, finance, etc.




According to Netty Muharani, BIMP-EAGA is a potential food basket area. It will be discussed together, so the 2022 BIMP-EAGA can contribute to food resilience in the area or sub-area.

Beside the global issues, BIMP-EAGA will also discuss the cooperation in several clusters, starting from the connectivity cluster, agriculture cluster, tourism cluster, human resources cluster, and the environment cluster.
