PONTIANAK - The Governor of West Kalimantan, H. Sutarmidji, S.H., M.Hum. invited the Sarawak Project Development State Commerce delegation to attend the 25th BIMP EAGA Ministerial Meeting in Pontianak from 23 to 26 November. In 2022, West Kalimantan Province will host the international conference.

The Governor did it when receiving a business delegation from Sarawak State led by H. Junaidi bin H. Sahadan, also attended by Vice Governor Drs. H. Ria Norsan, M.M., M.H., and Regional Secretary of West Kalimantan Province, dr. Harisson, M.Kes., at the Governor's Hall of West Kalimantan, Thursday (3/11/2022).

"I expect there will be envoys who will come to see what investments can be developed in West Kalimantan," said the Governor.

He explained, West Kalimantan is inviting foreign investors to invest in West Kalimantan in the fields of infrastructure, telecommunications, electricity, agriculture, clean water and tourism. Investment is needed in order to accelerate the movement of the economy in West Kalimantan.

"For tourism in West Kalimantan, there is an attractive tourism potential in Sambas Regency, namely Temajuk Beach. There are no beaches that are more than 50 kilometers long surrounded by forests with clean and beautiful nature scenery except at Temajuk," said the Governor.

He added, Temajuk Beach will be the best tourist destination in Kalimantan when its properly organized and managed. Moreover, the nation's capital will move to Kalimantan Island, precisely in East Kalimantan Province.

H. Junaidi bin H. Sahadan explained that the Sarawak Project Development State Commerce delegation met the Governor of West Kalimantan to explore the opportunities for cooperation in various sectors. West Kalimantan is considered the closest partner for the investment because it has a lot of business potential.

"We see Temajuk as the closest potential that we can develop. It has great potential to be advanced. So as the business actor, we might be able to make further studies," he concluded.(NM/DS)
