PONTIANAK - Taking place in the meeting room of Praja 1, the West Kalimantan Governor’s Office, the Final Meeting on the preparationvof the 25th BIMP-EAGA Ministerial Meeting led by Governor of West Kalimantan, H. Sutarmidji, S.H., M.Hum., Friday (11/18/2022).

Before the meeting participants, Governor evaluated and suggested for displaying featured products with the aim of promoting West Kalimantan handicrafts.

The Regional Secretary of West Kalimantan Province, dr. Harisson, M.Kes. explained, the Coordinating Ministry for The Economic Affairs manages the attendace list of guests and delegates from abroad. The online registration is closed on Friday, 18 November 2022.

"Now around 214 participants have been registered and the registration is still being awaited by the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs. It is likely that the number will increase to around 250 participants," he uttered. 

Several ministers from Indonesia are also scheduled to attend in West Kalimantan. Six ministers are scheduled to attend the meeting of Central Inflation Control Team (TPIP) on Friday, 25 November.

"The Minister of Home Affairs, Minister of Finance, Minister of Transportation, and Head of Bappenas, are also planned to attend at the meeting," said Harisson.

This moment will be a good opportunity for West Kalimantan to promote the SME’s handicraft, the tourism sector, special local foods, and the forest products.

"In this moment, of course, we are taking the opportunity to promote tourist attractions in West Kalimantan. We have to promote Temajuk Beach, Sentarum Lake, and Kijing International Port, which is expected to include investments to support it," he concluded. (NM/DS)
