Pontianak – The Minister of Economy, Airlangga Hartarto, explained in the BIMP-EAGA Meeting that he hoped with the TPID Meeting centered in the West Kalimantan Province, the inflation control ahead of Christmas and New Year can be done well.

For the year of 2023, the central and global government are still in the global economic uncertainty. Global economic will decrease from 3.2% to 2.7% in 2023. On the other hand, inflation is predicted to be stagnant.

“It means that inflation will still happen. Meanwhile, the United States is still above 8%, Uni Europe is also high on 10.7%, the United Kingdom 11.1%, and even in the country like Russia is 12.6% and Turky 85.51%,” he said.

However, he admitted that he has not known about when the war happening between Russia-Ukraine will end.

“It seems like it will last long and of course the price of energy, food, and fertilizer will be affected by the war. But, in the middle of this uncertainty, Indonesia’s economic growth is still relatively good on 5.72% and the inflation is already decreased from 5,9% in August and around 5.7% in September. I hope all regions control the inflation and groceries’ price stability and others,” the Minister of Economy said.
